Combustion Tester

Horizontal Flooring Combustion Tester

The Horizontal Flooring Flammability Tester (DIN EN ISO 9239-1) is an international standard that evaluates the fire reactivity of floor coverings and flooring materials.

In particular, this standard specifies methods for measuring the heat release and smoke production of floor coverings in fire conditions.

It plays an important role in evaluating how floor coverings react when exposed to fire, reflecting these findings in the fire safety of buildings.

Key Features

Heat Release Rate (HRR) Measurement HRR (Heat Release Rate) measures the amount of heat released by the specimen during testing in real time.

This value is related to fire propagation speed and indicates how quickly the floor covering releases heat during a fire.

Smoke Density Measurement Smoke density is measured in real time using an optical density sensor.

This value represents the concentration of smoke generated when the specimen combusts and is important for evaluating the toxicity of smoke and its effects on the human body in the event of a fire.

Gas Concentration Analysis Measures the concentrations of major gases generated during testing, including CO (carbon monoxide), COโ‚‚ (carbon dioxide), and oxygen (Oโ‚‚), to analyze the emission of hazardous gases during combustion. This enables the evaluation of risk in fire situations.

Thermal Radiation Level Control The thermal radiator provides a fixed thermal radiation level of 35 kW/m², supplying consistent heat to the floor covering specimen. This radiation level serves as an important criterion for evaluating the fire reactivity of floor coverings.

Precise Temperature and Smoke Measurement Accurately measures specimen temperature changes and smoke density during testing. This enables precise identification of the heat release characteristics and smoke generation of floor coverings in fire conditions.

Test Environment Control The test environment is controlled to maintain constant temperature and relative humidity. Tests are generally conducted in an environment of 23°C ± 2°C.

Durability and Stability The testing equipment is highly durable and provides consistent results even in repeated testing.

The fire reactivity characteristics of floor coverings can be accurately measured. Through real-time data collection and automatic recording functions, test data is accurately recorded, with the ability to save and generate reports in CSV, Excel, and PDF formats.
