SBI Building Material Fire Reaction Tester
DIN EN 13823 is a standard that evaluates the fire reactivity of building materials and structures, with particular focus on heat release and smoke production.
This test is used to measure the fire performance of building materials and evaluate how these materials react in the event of a fire.
The DIN EN 13823 testing equipment is an integrated form of the Sparker Test and fire reaction test, measuring the heat, smoke, and gases generated when materials are exposed to fire.
The testing equipment generally has functions for measuring important fire indicators such as heat release, smoke density, and oxygen consumption.
Key Features

Heat Release Rate (HRR) Measurement The testing equipment measures the Heat Release Rate (HRR) in real time, evaluating the amount of heat generated by the material during a fire.
Smoke Density Measurement Measures the amount of smoke generated to verify how much smoke the material emits in the event of a fire. This is accurately measured using an optical density meter.
Oxygen Consumption Evaluates how much oxygen is consumed as the fire progresses by measuring the oxygen consumption rate. This is important for understanding fire intensity and the combustion characteristics of the fuel.
Gas Analysis Analyzes the toxicity of smoke by measuring major hazardous gases generated during a fire (CO, CO₂, etc.).
Sparker and Heat Source The testing equipment supplies heat to the specimen using a specific thermal radiation level. This reproduces actual fire conditions and evaluates how the material reacts to fire.
Test Environment Configuration The test environment has strictly controlled temperature, thermal radiation levels, and oxygen concentration, providing accurate and consistent test results.
