Special Purpose Devices
In the past, many laboratories used tap water for cooling. While initially considered a practical solution, several drawbacks began to emerge over time. Tap water contains limescale, which damages various equipment and devices and degrades their performance.
Although limescale can be removed, it results in the waste of time, which is today's most valuable resource. Furthermore, while tap water can serve as an effective coolant during the cool winter months, it fails to function properly when heated during the summer.
The continuous waste of water was a problem causing serious damage to both the environment and the economy.
For these reasons, laboratory workers concerned with environmental protection began adopting closed-circuit cooling circulation systems.
Designed for applications requiring high cooling capacity, these chillers utilize an external circulation method.
Liquids contained in baths (water, alcohol, antifreeze, etc.) are sent to each cell and device via an external liquid circulation pump. After absorbing heat, the liquid returns to the bath to cool down before being sent back into the system.
