DVS Resolution

DVS Resolution

VOC & H₂O Combined Sorption Analyzer (DVS Resolution)

The DVS Resolution is an instrument capable of precisely analyzing the gravimetric sorption properties of both organic vapors (VOCs) and water (H₂O), enabling evaluation of material moisture sensitivity, stability, and storage conditions.

What is DVS Resolution?

The DVS Resolution is a gravimetric sorption analyzer specifically built for the precise analysis of moisture and organic vapor sorption properties in solid materials.

Across a wide range of industrial applications, solid materials undergo structural and performance changes through interactions with water vapor or organic vapors.

The DVS Resolution is designed to evaluate the sorption and desorption behavior of solid materials in real time under diverse vapor environments, including moisture and organic solvents.

With precise control over temperature and relative humidity, the DVS Resolution enables measurements that replicate real-world conditions across a broad range of organic vapor and water vapor compositions.

Its flexible configuration options — supporting diverse experimental conditions and accessories — allow for quantitative analysis of hygroscopicity, stability, and structural changes in a wide range of materials, including pharmaceuticals, polymers, food, and building materials.

What Are the Advantages

of DVS Resolution?

01

Long-Term Temperature Stability

By using multiple temperature-controlled zones to prevent condensation issues and by matching vapor generation temperature with delivery temperature, the DVS Resolution delivers outstanding long-term stability in both temperature and humidity control. Typical stability at 25 °C is maintained within ±0.2 °C.

02

Humidity Performance

The DVS Resolution offers the highest humidity precision of any instrument produced by SMS.

03

24-Hour Long-Term Gas Flow Stability

Powered by the UltraBalance — Surface Measurement Systems' core technology renowned for its unmatched precision — the DVS Resolution can measure mass changes with 0.1 µg resolution, and peak-to-peak noise is below 0.3 µg.

04

TrueO™-RH

Surface Measurement Systems has designed the only DVS instrument capable of offering True0 RH, reducing water partial pressure to 0.0% RH. This enables the study of hydrates and other compounds that only fully dehydrate below 1% RH.
