DIN EN 71-2 is a European safety standard that specifies test methods for evaluating the fire hazards of children's toys. The standard measures how toys and similar products respond when exposed to a flame source — specifically, how quickly they ignite and how rapidly the flame spreads. 


The DIN EN 71-2 testing system provides the equipment required to perform these flammability assessments. EN 13823, on the other hand, is the standard for evaluating the reaction-to-fire performance of building materials and structural products, with particular focus on heat release and smoke production. It is used to measure the fire performance of construction materials and to assess how they behave under fire exposure.
